Migrating from Delicious Library 3

⚠️ Important notes before starting

1. Only movies can be imported

Movie Tracker can import only the items that are marked as Movie in Delicious Library 3. When exporting your library as a CSV file, only the entries with item type set to Movie will be imported into the app. Other item types such as books, music, or video games will be ignored.

2. Title matching limitations

Delicious Library 3 does not include unique identifiers such as IMDb or TMDb IDs in the exported CSV file. For this reason, Movie Tracker will attempt to identify each movie based on its title. In some cases, the matching might fail, especially when titles include additional text such as Blu-rayBoxsetVolume 1, or similar.

If a movie cannot be matched automatically, it will appear in an error list after the import. You can then add those movies manually later.

You can easily move your library from Delicious Library 3 to Movie Tracker.

Change Delicious Library 3 Language to English

If you’re not using the app in English, you need to switch its language to English before exporting your library. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen and select System Settings.
  2. In the System Settings window, select General from the sidebar and click Languages & Region.
  3. Scroll down to the Application Languages section. If Delicious Library is not listed, click the + button.
  4. Select Delicious Library 3 from the list of installed apps and choose English from the dropdown menu.
  5. Close and reopen Delicious Library 3 to apply the language change. Some apps may require a system restart for the change to take effect.

Export Your Library as a CSV File

Once the app is in English, you can export your library. Follow these steps:

  1. Open Delicious Library 3 and go to the Export page.
  2. Configure the export settings as follows:

    • Export: Entire Library
    • Separate Multiple Values With: Comma
    • Delimiter: String-delimiter (Insert the character ; in the text field)
    • Export Fields: Select all available fields.
  3. Save the exported file. If the file doesn’t have the .csv extension, rename it to add .csv to the filename.
