Migrating from TV Time

If you currently track your movies and shows in TV Time and want to move them into Movie Tracker, you can do it in a few simple steps using a browser extension that exports your data. TV Time does not provide an official export feature, so this method relies on a community tool called Tv Time Liberator Extension, available on the Chrome Web Store.  

Below you will find how to export your library from TV Time, extract the exported file, and then import it into Movie Tracker.

Step 1:  Install Tv Time Liberator Extension in Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome on your computer.
  2. Install Tv Time Liberator Extension.
  3. After installation, the extension icon should appear near the address bar in Chrome.

⚠️ Please note: Tv Time Liberator is a community project that allows you to export your TV Time data using IMDb identifiers. It is not developed or maintained by the Movie Tracker developer.  

Step 2:  Export your library from TV Time

  1. In Chrome, visit the TV Time website and sign in with your account.
  2. Once you are logged in and your library is visible, click the Tv Time Liberator Extension icon in the browser toolbar.
  3. Follow the instructions shown in the extension interface to start the export of your data. The extension will process your account and generate an export of your watch history and lists.  
  4. When the export is complete, your browser will download a compressed file in ZIP format that contains your TV Time data.

Step 3:  Extract the exported ZIP file

  1. Locate the downloaded ZIP file in your computer Downloads folder or in the location configured for browser downloads.
  2. Extract the contents of the ZIP file using the standard extraction tool of your operating system.
  3. After extraction, you should find a file named watchlist.csv among the exported files.
  4. This watchlist.csv file will be used to import your movies and shows into Movie Tracker.

Step 4:  Import your TV Time library into Movie Tracker

Next, open Movie Tracker on your device and import the CSV file you just extracted.

  1. Open Movie Tracker.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Open the Import section.
  4. Select TV Time as the import type.
  5. Choose the watchlist.csv file that you obtained from the Tv Time Liberator export.

Movie Tracker will then process the file and start importing your library.

Once the import has finished, your TV Time library will be available inside Movie Tracker, ready to be managed together with the rest of your collection.
